Approximately 70% of nursing care establishments “Lack of nursing staff” Worst since 2007, August 16 at 5:27

A survey conducted by the foundation last year revealed that nearly 70% of nursing care facilities lack nursing care staff. It is the worst since 2007 when comparison is possible.

This is a survey conducted by the Nursing Care Labor Stability Center, which is a foundation under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare every October, and last year, 9126 business sites that provide nursing care services answered.

According to this, 69.7% of the establishments answered that the nursing staff answered “very much shortage,” “shortage,” “somewhat shortage”.

It was the worst situation since 2007, when I started asking questions in the current form that allows comparison.

As a reason, 90% of the respondents answered that it was “difficult to hire”, and many said that “the competition for human resources with other companies in the same industry is intense” or “working conditions are not good compared to other industries”.

On the other hand, establishments accepting foreign workers increased by 4 points from the previous year to 6.6% of the total.

At nursing care sites, it is expected that the number of operations will increase due to measures to prevent the infection of the elderly with the new coronavirus, and securing human resources continues to be a major issue.
