Recently, veteran Liu Jiaqing and his father Liu Guangcheng visited the mountain in Donghuan Village, Hehua Street, Liuyang City, Hunan. This nearly 500 acres of mountain forest is planted with fir trees. In 2013, Liu Guangcheng’s family contracted this mountain. When Liu Jiaqing, who had not been discharged at the time, walked up the mountain with his father for the first time, he thought about the future development. The father’s sentence "In fact, planting trees is also a way out for farmers." Let him find the "way out" of this barren mountain. After Liu Jiaqing retired from the army in March 2014, he began to open up wasteland, plant trees, afforest and protect forests with his elderly father. The two get up at 4 o'clock in the morning every morning, prepare meals for the whole day, grab a bite of rice at noon and night, and continue up the mountain. Today, the original 260 acres of barren hills have been developed by the two into a forest of nearly 500 acres and hundreds of thousands of cedar trees. They also raise 25 cows, 15 pigs and some chickens and fish. Liu Jiaqing is planning to raise cattle and pigs deep in the mountains and forests, and combine the forests, rice fields, ponds, pig houses, cattle pens, pastures, etc. into a circular circle to create a road for recycling farm resources.
