Grape hunting at the harvest season is also taking measures to prevent corona infection Okayama August 15 5:31

At orchards in Okayama Prefecture, one of the leading grape producing regions in Japan, families and other people enjoy hunting grapes after taking measures to prevent infection with the new coronavirus.

At "Ishihara Orchard" in Okayama City, grape hunting started last month, and families and others visited on the 14th.

In the orchard, 10 kinds of grapes such as pione and shine muscat are cultivated on the site of about 70 ares, and now, at the harvest season, many grapes are growing.

The visitors first tasted each variety, picked the grape of their choice and harvested it with scissors.

As a measure to prevent infection with the new coronavirus, the orchard wipes out the scissors and baskets used for harvesting frequently to sterilize it, and the number of people entering the house at one time is reduced to about 10 people.

A 30-year-old man who came from Hyogo with his family said, "I thought it would be a good idea to make memories of the summer with my children. I enjoyed it with peace of mind because it was not secretly outdoors."

Naoki Ishihara, the representative of Ishihara Orchard, said, “I think I couldn't go out even during the long holidays, so I want you to make memories of 2020 in the orchard.”
