Kanagawa Prefecture announced on the 14th that 14 patients in total in their 40s to 90s, a total of 14 people, were confirmed to have been infected with the new coronavirus at "Shonan Atsugi Hospital" in Atsugi City.
According to the prefecture, these 14 people are heavy contacts of women in their thirties who are engaged in rehabilitation related work at this hospital where infection was announced on the 13th.
Now that there are 15 infected people at this hospital, the prefecture believes that a cluster has occurred, and dispatches a countermeasure team to the hospital to carry out investigations and measures to prevent the spread of infection.
Of the 14 inpatients, men in their 80s were moderately ill with symptoms of pneumonia, while others were mild.
According to the county, this hospital is considering emergency and new patient admissions as well as the planned suspension or postponement of surgery.
