Many caregivers fear an imminent second wave of coronavirus. - Bastien Louvet / SIPA

Emergencies stormed, intensive care services saturated, and medical staff at the end of their rope. At the height of the coronavirus epidemic, the French health system was tested as never before, faced with a new virus about which we knew almost nothing. And even as hospitals were already wracked by a deep crisis. Doctors, orderlies, nurses: everyone has given their all to take care of patients, pushing the walls of service already to the maximum of their capacities.

In the meantime, a long total containment has been decreed in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus. Then the epidemic calmed down, hospitals emptied, deconfinement freed us and summer arrived. A few carefree weeks where barrier gestures were more or less respected. Where the distance has narrowed as the terraces of cafes and restaurants have been reinvested. Result: contaminations and hospitalizations which are on the rise again. And the specter of an impending second wave now looms. Many caregivers fear a new saturation of hospitals in the coming weeks.

Is this your case? Do you think that we will soon experience a wave of the Covid-19 epidemic? What scares you the most about this scenario? In your opinion, is the hospital ready today to face a major epidemic rebound? Better prepared and better equipped than in March?
