Fukuoka Prefecture announced on the 13th that a total of 144 people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus. Out of these, at a high school where a cluster occurred, about 20 new students were infected.
On the 13th, it was announced that 69 people were infected in Fukuoka city, 14 people in Kitakyushu city, and 144 people in Fukuoka prefecture.
The number of confirmed infections per day in the prefecture exceeds 100 since 9th of this month.
Now there are a total of 3359 infected people in Fukuoka prefecture.
Of these, at Omuta High School in Omuta City, where a cluster of infected people occurred, 20 new students and 1 teacher were newly infected, and the number of infected people at this high school was 27.
According to the prefecture, most students belong to the same athletic club, and teachers also serve as advisors for this club activity.
Kurume City also announced that a man in his 80s who had been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus and was receiving treatment died on the 13th.
In the prefecture, 39 people were infected with the new coronavirus and died.
