Tycoon Rupert Murdoch's Fox Corp group announced Tuesday the launch of an independent streaming service for its news and business channels that will be available in 20 countries by the end of this year.

With its new business structure, optimized after selling much of its film and television entertainment operations to the Disney group , Fox has reported that the new subscription service would include on-demand content from Fox News and Fox Business Channel .

Service Fox News International , with a price of $ 6.99 a month, will be released in Mexico on August 20 , then followed by Spain , Germany and UK on 17 September.

This programming will be in 20 countries by the end of the year, according to the company.

The service will offer online content - and without the need for a cable or satellite subscription - from Fox News, which has been the most watched cable news channel in recent years and one of Republican President Donald Trump's favorites .

It will be available on various digital platforms including the iPhone system , Android , on Apple TV and Android TV , and is expected to also be released on Amazon Fire TV and Roku later on.

The initiative comes amid a polarization of news audiences in the United States in recent years, with many conservatives turning to Fox and his more liberal rivals CNN and MSNBC .

Murdoch, an 89-year-old media mogul, remains president of Fox Corp. and his son Lachlan serves as CEO.
