On August 12, with a loud noise, a barrage in Anchang River, Anzhou District, Mianyang, Sichuan was successfully blasted with a length of 20 meters. Due to continuous rainfall for several days, the left bank of the Anchang River’s Xinkan Weir broke more than 100 meters, and the right bank of the levee collapsed about 100 meters. The embankment was empty, seriously threatening the lives and properties of nearby residents. The site headquarters decided to blast the barrage.

On the afternoon of August 12, the staff debugged the air compressor and sent professional blasting personnel to rope down to the barrage dam body. After the commissioning was completed, the dam body was drilled, and then explosives were filled and blasted. According to reports, 160 kilograms of explosives were used for blasting, and the remaining dams will also be blasted later.

After the blasting, the river water flow will accelerate, which will greatly improve the flood discharge capacity of the Anchang River and reduce the erosion of the river banks on both banks. (Reporter Yang Yong edited Lu Jie)
