In 2019, Zara Larsson was the face of the Chinese technology company Huawei. A collaboration that has been criticized from several quarters.

Among other things in a debate article in Expressen, where Muf Östergötland's district chairman Matilda Ekeblad believes that Zara Larsson through her cooperation supports the Chinese state.

Huawei has previously been the subject of debate, as they have been accused of spying for the Chinese state. The company denies the allegations.

"No kind state"

Larsson responded to the criticism in an interview in TV4's Nyhetsmorgon on 4 August and said that the advertising campaign was not her "smartest deal".

- Even if Huawei believes that they have no connections to it, it is difficult to prove or disprove. We know that the Chinese state, it is not a nice state and I do not want to support what they do, said Zara Larsson then.

Removed from Apple Music

Now the artist's statement seems to have had consequences in China. Her music has been removed from the streaming service Apple Music in the country.

When SVT's contacts on site search for "Zara Larsson", there is no longer any music to listen to. It just says: "No results".

Larsson's press contact Therese Hänggård writes in an SMS to Kulturnyheterna: “We will talk about this internally during the day. No comments at this time ”.
