Typhoon No. 5 changed to a temperate cyclone in the Sea of Japan on the morning of the 11th. Due to the approaching low pressure, the wind on the Sea of Japan side of Hokkaido will intensify over the night of the 11th, and local heavy rain may occur, so caution is required.
According to observations by the Japan Meteorological Agency, Typhoon No. 5 changed to a temperate cyclone in the Sea of Japan at 9:00 am on the 11th.
Since this low pressure approaches on the night of the 11th, heavy rainfall may occur locally in the northern part of the Sea of Japan side in Hokkaido.
It is expected that the amount of rainfall in the 24 hours until the morning of the 12th will be 120 mm in the northern part of the Sea of Japan side of Hokkaido.
The wind is expected to intensify mainly on the Japan Sea side of Hokkaido, and the maximum wind speed on the 11th is 20 meters at sea, 16 meters on land, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is expected to reach 30 meters.
The Soya region, which had a record heavy rainfall last week, may have heavy rain again, and the Japan Meteorological Agency cautioned against sediment-related disasters, inundation of low land, flooding of rivers, and called for strong winds.
