Muhammad suffers from "schizophrenia" and his family is unable to afford his treatment

(Mohamed - a Mauritanian - 29 years old) has been suffering from schizophrenia since 2015, and his illness complications have increased, and he needs medicine at a cost of 5372 dirhams for a year, and his family is unable to afford the amount of treatment, and appeals to good people to help them.

Muhammad’s mother narrates the story of her son’s suffering with illness, saying: “Muhammad Hafez of the Qur’an since his childhood, and when he reached the age of 24, had a severe fever, and subsequently contracted schizophrenia, and his health deteriorated a lot in the recent period, which led to his exposure to health problems, including Disordered behavior, and became aggressive towards those around him, which necessitated his presentation to the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Diseases at Al Ain Governmental Hospital.

She added, "The doctor decided to give Muhammad medicines and vitamins to try to control the consequences of the disease and treat it, and recommended that he stay in the hospital to monitor his health and behavioral condition."

“Umm Muhammad” explained that her husband is the only provider for them, and he works as an imam in a mosque in the city of Al Ain with a salary of 7500 dirhams, of which 3500 dirhams go to bank installments, and her family consists of nine members.

'Schizophrenia'

Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. It may result in a group of hallucinations, delusions and severe disturbances in thinking and behavior, which impede the performance of daily functions and may cause disability.

People with schizophrenia need lifelong treatment, and early treatment can help control the disease before serious symptoms appear.
