Simple exercises at home that protect against blood clots

The German Federal Association for Health Information and Consumer Protection stated that with the outbreak of the new Corona virus, some people - especially those who work from home - may be exposed to the risk of developing blood clots due to lack of movement, stressing that simple exercises have preventive effects from these infections.

The German Association explained that lying down or sitting for long periods makes blood flow slowly in the veins, which increases the tendency to clot, and therefore it is important to stand up or do some simple exercise regularly, especially when sitting at the desk for long periods.

You can do some stretches, walk a few steps, or do squat movements from time to time.

And when using a Foot rocker tool, the employee who works from home in particular must sit on the seat while keeping the back straight, and the leg and thigh must form a right angle, and then the heels are pulled up, while the toes remain on the ground, and after that The posture is relaxed and the heels are pressed to the ground, and this exercise is repeated quickly, up to 10 times.

And blood vessels are often exposed to blood clots in the leg, and among the risk factors is the presence of previous surgery, and infections, varicose veins and kidney problems increase the risk of exposure to blood clots.

The German Association advises that you should consult a specialist as soon as one or more risk factors are present.

The symptoms of blood clots in the leg veins appear through the feeling of severe pain in the calf when standing, and other symptoms are swelling and discoloration of the skin, and these symptoms may not appear together, and therefore the specialist must be consulted immediately.
