According to the Yellow River Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources of China, affected by the recent rainfall, the Yellow River Tongguan Hydrological Station had a peak discharge of 5,060 cubic meters per second at 23:54 on August 6, which was the Yellow River's No. 3 flood in 2020.

At around 12:00 on August 7, the Yellow River's No. 3 flood of 2020 reached the Xiaolangdi Reservoir, with a flow of 5,290 cubic meters per second.

It is understood that from 20 o'clock on the 6th, the Xiaolangdi Reservoir, in accordance with the dispatching instructions of the Yellow River Water Conservancy Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources of China, has a flow of 1,000 to intercept floods.

At 11 o'clock on August 7, the discharge flow of Xiaolangdi Reservoir increased to 1500 cubic meters per second, the water level in the reservoir area rose to 214.98 meters, and the water storage capacity was 162 million cubic meters.

At 20 o'clock on August 7, Xiaolangdi Reservoir will increase the discharge flow to 2000 cubic meters per second. The Xiaolangdi Reservoir has shifted from low-level flood discharge and sediment discharge to flood retention, effectively reducing the pressure on flood control in the lower Yellow River.
