"The indicators are deteriorating, confirming a more active circulation of the virus throughout the territory, in particular among young adults", underlined the General Directorate of Health, calling for "to strengthen vigilance". In addition, since Thursday, 21 new clusters have appeared bringing their total number to 787, including 288 active and 499 closed.

On the other hand, the number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care has dropped slightly to 383 patients, or seven less than the day before, while this balance of patients in intensive care has fluctuated between increase and decrease in recent days, thus breaking with the continuous decline observed since April. France now has 30,324 deaths, or 12 more than Thursday, including 19,818 in hospitals and 10,506 in social and medico-social establishments. This last figure, which dates from Tuesday, will be updated on August 11.
