Jay-Z creates a university in New York
Jay-Z and Roc Nation will open a school at Long Island University, located in Brooklyn - New York. As announced by Page Six, the rapper and businessmen are about to open the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment.
It foresees that 25% of the students enrolled at this school will receive a scholarship from Roc Nation. This undergraduate training will focus on the study of music, music technology, entrepreneurship and production, and sports management. The president of Long Island University said she was very happy to welcome this new school to her campus.
Jay-Z was himself a subject of study at Georgetown University, in a course entitled "Sociology of Hip-Hop: Jay-Z's Urban Theodicy" while his hit 99 Problems was the subject of a verse by verse analysis in the law review of the University of Saint Louis.
Classes at the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment are scheduled to begin in the fall.
