On Wednesday, Facebook deleted a video posted by US President Donald Trump saying that children were "almost immune" against Covid-19, and the company said the registry violated its rules regarding sharing misinformation about the Coronavirus.

"This recording includes false allegations that a group of people is immune to Covid-19, which is in violation of our policies regarding misleading information related to Covid," a Facebook spokesman said.

This is the first time that the social media company has deleted a Trump post due to wrong information related to Corona virus, the spokesman added.

Trump's campaign has posted a tweet on her Twitter account, shared by the president, that contains the video, but Twitter also later hid the tweet for violating the company's rules regarding misinformation.

Trump's campaign accused the two companies of bias against the president, saying that Trump had mentioned a fact.

"It is not the social media companies that are deciding the truth," said campaign spokeswoman Courtney Barrilla.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says adults make up the majority of known cases of Covid-19 disease caused by the virus so far, but some children and infants have also contracted the disease and can also pass on the infection to others.
