In order to prevent children from drowning, Kaiho holds a classroom for elementary school students who enter summer vacation 12:23 on August 5

A class was held at an elementary school in Mito City to learn what to do when you were about to drown, in order to prevent water accidents for children entering the summer vacation this weekend.

This class, which was held at Kamiono Elementary School in Mito City, was implemented by the school's request to the Ibaraki Coast Guard to prevent water accidents for children who are about to begin their summer vacation.

The children in the pool first practiced a method called "floating", in which they lay on their backs and spread their hands.

At first, the children couldn't get up well because they were so strong, but they practiced repeatedly, receiving advice such as "Be relaxed and take a big breath."

After that, in the classroom, I was learning how familiar things such as plastic bottles could be used as floats, and that wearing a life jacket would make you float.

The second-year student who participated was saying, "I would rather not go to the river alone and go with the people at home."

Mr. Shinichi Shimamoto, Security and Rescue Department, Ibaraki Coast Guard, said, "I told you the basic techniques for safety. I want you to make use of what you learned today and play safely."
