[Explanation] Repair the roof waterproof layer and insulation layer, repair the outer eaves, and the indoor wall silk... On August 3, Zhou Bo, the director of the Engineering Department of the Palace Museum of the Puppet Manchurian Palace, climbed onto the scaffolding and carefully guided the workers to carry out the work of the Qinmin Building Repair work.

The Puppet Manchukuo Palace was the palace where the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty Aixinjueluo Puyi lived as the puppet emperor of the Manchukuo. The Palace Museum of the Puppet Manchukuo is one of the three remaining palace sites in China. It is also a historical testimony to the Japanese imperialists' occupation of northeast China by force and the implementation of fascist colonial rule.

The reporter learned that the Palace Museum of the Puppet Manchukuo will regularly repair the cultural relics. Since 1963, related buildings have been restored to varying degrees many times.

Zhou Bo has participated in related work many times. He once went to various places in China to inquire historical materials in order to restore a brick and a silk wall.

Among them, the roof of Tongde Hall was first repaired on a large scale in 1963, and from then on, the building of the Puppet Manchurian Palace was partially repaired. Among them, by 2000, three phases of the project were carried out. By 2004, the Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum was officially opened to the society after it was fully repaired. In 2016, we started the second round of protection and repair projects.

[Explanation] Currently, the Qinmin Building of the Imperial Palace of Manchukuo is undergoing renovation. Qinmin Building has a history of one hundred years. It was once the place where the Japanese imperialists directly controlled Puyi.

Zhou Bo told reporters that since April this year, he and his team have been conducting data search, restoration and confirmation to ensure that the original appearance of the cultural relics is restored to the greatest extent.

There was a fire in 1946, so the historical data of Qinmin Building is relatively small, only a few photos are kept, and a few photos are not clear. Therefore, it is very difficult to repair the cultural relics of Qinmin Building.

[Explanation] Zhou Bo recalled that he used various methods to find various forces to restore the appearance of the Qinmin Building during the Puppet Manchukuo period step by step.

The first is to search a large number of historical materials, including cultural relics and architectural materials, through the extensive collection of cultural relics from the imperial palace of the Manchukuo, including the Jilin Provincial Archives. Second, we interviewed historical witnesses and held expert demonstration meetings to demonstrate the main building components and repair techniques. Third, we also hired a Japanese architectural consultant, Mr. Maruta Yoji, an expert from the Shimizu Group in Japan.

[Explanation] According to reports, the Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum has invested more than 100 people to carry out protection and repair projects for 12 cultural relics including Qinmin Building, Huaiyuan Building, basement and swimming pool. The project area is about 47,000 square meters. It is expected to be at the end of August next year. Finished.

Zhou Bo believes that regular maintenance and repair of cultural relics can not only "cure" the building, but also restore the original appearance of the building to the greatest extent, allowing history to "talk".

It removes the dangerous factors of its own building, makes the building healthier, and also makes the building "live". Let it "speak" so that it can serve as an important historical witness to educate the masses of the people, especially young people, and let it tell its own existence and the rich historical stories contained in it.
