Actor Peter Dinklage - Robert Gauthier / LA Times / Polaris / Starface

Peter Dinklage was chosen to play a legendary character and at least as flamboyant as his Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones: a certain Cyrano de Bergerac! The actor knows the role well since he had already played it in the theater, in a slightly modified version (most of the thoughts on the size of the character's nose had for example disappeared) in 2019, but the success of the play convinced Joe Wright to make a big screen adaptation, according to The Hollywood Reporter .

The cast will be completed by Haley Bennett (as Roxane), Bryan Tyree Henry and Ben Mendelsohn

Surrounded by good people

This Cyrano is a family affair for Peter Dinklage, since it is his wife, Erica Schmidt, who wrote the screenplay for this new version, while the libretto and music have been entrusted to the artists of The National, and to Carin Besser, longtime collaborator of American rockers. No release date has yet been announced, and it is also unclear when filming can start, as Hollywood productions are still very much slowed down by the pandemic.
