On August 4, 1905, the Soviet composer and conductor Boris Aleksandrov was born in the Tver province. He studied music from childhood: he sang in the church choir and played the piano. Later, the artist graduated from the Moscow Conservatory and became deputy artistic director of the Soviet Army Song and Dance Ensemble, headed by his father, Alexander Alexandrov. In 1946, Boris Alexandrov took over his position. He directed the ensemble for over 40 years. During this time, the collective toured the Soviet Union and became famous abroad.
