Hiroshima Local company prepares to welcome "Atomic Bomb Day" by making 1000 cranes August 5 3:57

As the number of origami cranes delivered to the Peace Park in Hiroshima decreases due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, a local company is making 1,000 cranes in Hiroshima and is preparing for the "Atomic Bomb Day" on the 6th.

About 13,000 bundles of thousand cranes are delivered to the Peace Park in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City every year, but this time the number of tourists is decreasing due to the spread of the new coronavirus and people gather to fold the cranes. With fewer opportunities, the number of thousand paper cranes that can be delivered is less than usual.

For this reason, 10 companies in the prefecture and the Council of Social Welfare are promoting the construction of 1,000 cranes ahead of the 6th atomic bombing day.

Of these, at the Momiji Bank head office in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, four employees threaded each origami crane with a needle.

Etsumi Nakano of Momiji Bank said, “This is the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombing, so I folded the crane with a wish for peace. I think we were ready to welcome many people to Hiroshima on August 6th.” I was talking.

The total number of origami cranes made by local companies so far is over 15,000, and they will be stored in the exhibition space next to "Children of the Atomic Bomb" in Peace Park on the 5th. ..
