The Director General of Dubai Municipality, Eng. Dawood Al Hajri, has published an aerial photo of the Marmum Reserve, the features of which stand out as an artistic portrait in the Dubai desert, created by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Al-Hajri wrote on his account on Twitter: “Engined by # Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ... the Sanctuary of the Marmum, the Miracle of the Desert.” The Marmum Reserve is the largest non-walled desert reserve in the country, and includes more than 250,000 local trees that contain 44 species.

The reserve collects more than 220 species of endemic and migratory birds, including starlings, which settle in Africa, and are found for the first time in the country. The reserve also includes many wild animals such as the reem and the Arabian oryx, and more than 22 species of reptiles.

The Al-Marmoum Reserve is considered an eco-tourism area that visits more than one million visitors annually, and includes 56 lakes, the most famous of which are the Lakes of Lake, Lake of Love and Lake Expo, and it has platforms for monitoring birds and animals.
