The Public Order Act stipulates that a maximum of 50 people may gather at cultural events. Restrictions that have previously been questioned by musicians, stagehands and artists in an open letter to the government. The signatories want answers as to why the 50-person rule for cultural events stands firm at the same time as, for example, swimming is allowed to receive hundreds of guests.

The rules have also been questioned by cultural politicians in the opposition. Both Per Lodenius (C) and Vasiliki Tsouplaki (V) have previously said that they think the government should review the rules this autumn to see if it is possible to ease the restrictions in an infectious way.

"Amanda Lind, you must resign. Now."

The author and comedian Jonas Gardell goes one step further in his criticism and demands the resignation of the Minister of Culture in Expressen. He questions why corona restrictions differ between industries.

“Why is it okay with an open Ullared but not an open Gröna Lund? Why is it okay with a packed plane but not a packed theater? ”He writes.

According to Jonas Gardell, the government's decisions are inconsistent and he believes that Amanda Lind is a weak representative of the cultural industry.

"Amanda Lind, you must resign. Now. We must have a real Minister of Culture. One who knows something, the very least, about the industry, "he writes.

Questioned on DN's leader page

DN's Barbro Hedvall is also critical of the Minister of Culture. She questions how Amanda Lind has responded to the criticism and the cultural industry's demands for clearer information.

“What if we instead had a real Minister of Culture, a person who showed solidarity with his mission. Someone who felt the longing of both the performers and the audience. One would at least try to shake off arbitrary demarcations and look for ways out. ", Writes Barbro Hedvall on DN's leader pages.

During the weekend, Finland eased the restrictions and became the first country in the Nordic region to allow public events for more than 500 people. In Norway the border is 200 people, in Denmark 500 people and in Iceland 500 people.

Lawen Redar (S), the Social Democrats' cultural policy spokesperson, believes that there may be solutions in our neighboring countries to follow.

- I have noticed that in Denmark and Norway guidelines have been created for a corona-adapted business. What we have done in the culture committee is that we quickly work out clear crisis contributions to the culture, sports and media sector and it is a work that we must continue with this autumn, she says to Ekot.
