Maternity leave acquisition rate for men 7.48% Even at a year-on-year increase, it remained at a low level at 6:47 on August 3

Last year, the percentage of men who took childcare leave was 7.48%, a slight increase from the previous year. Compared to the target of raising the rate to 13% by this time, it remains at a low level, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare says "we want to create a work environment where men can take childcare leave as they wish."

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, as of October last year, the percentage of those who actually took childcare leave was 83% for women, compared to 7.48% for men.

The maternity leave acquisition rate for men was 1.32 points higher than the previous year, the highest ever, but the government has set the acquisition rate to 13% by the end and 30% by the end of five years. It remains low compared to the target.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, "Some people say that there is an atmosphere in which it is difficult for men to take childcare leave. In particular, a workplace where men can take childcare leave as desired by considering a system that allows them to take leave immediately after childbirth. I want to improve the environment."
