The Ecrins park, located in the Ecrins massif - ISA HARSIN / SIPA

A man in his fifties died on Saturday coming down from the summit of the Olan, in the Ecrins massif (Hautes-Alpes). Her 18-year-old daughter was seriously injured, we learned from mountain rescue.

They were swept away by a patch of snow on the way back down from the glacier via the Escarra route, said the Briançon CRS. The man then fell. He was unconscious when his daughter, held back by the rope, regained consciousness and was able to call for help.

The father succumbed to his injuries

Despite the intervention of the latter, the father succumbed to his injuries. The young girl, seriously injured but whose life is not in danger, was transported to the Grenoble hospital center. An investigation was opened, entrusted to the CRS of Briançon.
