On July 31, the Three Gorges Project opened a deep hole for flood discharge. According to the real-time water conditions of the Yangtze River Hydrological Network, the water level of the Three Gorges Reservoir was 161.08 meters at 22:00 on July 31, and the outflow flow was 38,700 cubic meters per second. The Three Gorges Reservoir maintains the discharge flow to free up the storage capacity to intercept the next flood.

It is reported that since the flood season this year, the Three Gorges Project has successfully responded to 6 floods. Through multiple rounds of storage and release, the utilization rate of flood control storage capacity has been increased. The total water storage capacity is nearly 18.2 billion cubic meters, which has effectively alleviated the flood control pressure in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
