At first glance, everything at Fahrion Engineering looks pretty unspectacular: an office building with clinker walls and large windows in Kornwestheim north of Stuttgart. On the first floor there is an open office landscape with a good three dozen desks. So far, so normal. But stop! Something is different in this open-plan office: it is the people behind the expansive desks. Almost everyone has gray hair here.

Jens Fahrion is 48 years old and one of the youngest in his company. He mainly hires older people. Other companies could learn from its success.
