25 Hachioji Super Shooting Incident 25 years memorial ceremony at victim's alma mater August 1 17:13

It has been 25 years since the killing of three high school students at a supermarket office in Hachioji, Tokyo, and a memorial service was held at the victim's alma mater. However, due to the spread of the new coronavirus, the singing of hymns by everyone was stopped, and the place of memorial was affected.

On July 30, 1995, three high school students, Megumi Yabuki (17) who worked part-time at the supermarket “Nampei” office in Hachioji, Tokyo, were shot and killed.

It has been 25 years since the incident, and a memorial ceremony was held on the 1st at a high school in Machida City where Mr. Yabuki attended. Since the infection with the new coronavirus is spreading this time, about 15 classmates all participated with their masks on, and quietly sang in front of the sunflower that Mr. Yabuki liked.

After this, every year we all sang hymns and prayed, but on that day, we stopped singing just by playing the song.

Former teacher Takahisa Ito (69) said, “The bullets robbed the life that was inflated in the future. The criminal has not been caught, and it remains a mystery why the incident occurred.” Appealed.

Megumi Takano (42), a classmate, said, “Mr. Yabuki was a woman who brightens the surroundings. 25 years have passed, but I still remember it clearly, and I want to continue working to prevent it from weathering.” I was talking with tears in my eyes.
