In Lianhe Village, Nanfeng Town, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, 8 kilometers away from the Sanxingdui ancient city site, archaeologists have discovered that from the late Neolithic period to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Historical relics spanning nearly 5,000 years, a large number of pottery, stoneware, and porcelain were unearthed at the same time.

It is understood that starting from October 2019, Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Deyang City Cultural Relics and Archaeology Research Institute and Guanghan City Cultural Relics Management Office have carried out salvage archaeological excavations on the joint site with a planned area of 7,000 square meters. As of the end of July 2020, an area of 5,000 square meters has been excavated, and extremely rich remains of Neolithic, Shang and Zhou, Qin and Han, Weijin, Tang and Song Dynasties and Ming and Qing periods have been discovered. Ash pits, tombs, kiln sites and other relics of various periods have been exposed. Thousands of them, and a large number of pottery, porcelain, stoneware, etc. were unearthed at the same time. Xin Zhonghua, head of archaeology at the joint site, said that the joint site covers the continuous and uninterrupted history of regional development for nearly 5,000 years. It can be called a historical site on the Chengdu Plain. It is for revealing the cultural features of regional archaeology and establishing a complete sequence of regional archaeological cultural development. And it is of great significance to study the origin, development and evolution of ancient Shu civilization.

[Concurrent] (Xin Zhonghua, Associate Researcher, Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology) The site is only 8 kilometers away from the ancient city of Sanxingdui. In fact, it is an important settlement site next to the ancient capital of Sanxingdui Fangguo. The development has been uninterrupted and continuous for five thousand years. Sequence of development. It is very important for us to understand the history of the development of regional archaeology and culture.

[Explanation] Among the many unearthed cultural relics, the archaeologists also discovered a pottery cover with dragon and phoenix patterns. After research, it is found that this is a pottery with a combination of dragon and phoenix engraved on the Yinxian line, dating from the late Shang period about 3200 years ago. The image of the phoenix bird on the pottery is obvious. The dragon's horns, beards, and claws are all available. Archaeologists believe that this is the earliest pottery with a "dragon and phoenix" pattern discovered in China. Another naive pottery pig 3200 years ago has attracted widespread attention from netizens because of its similar appearance to a cartoon pig. Xin Zhonghua said that many of the cultural relics of various periods unearthed at the joint site can be restored. The restored combination of typical artifacts can be used as a standard tool for various periods to establish a reference scale for the study of archaeological culture in various periods. Important reference

[Concurrent] (Xin Zhonghua, Associate Researcher of Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology) We are also proceeding with the repair and protection work simultaneously, splicing and sticking, and finally restored a large part of the (cultural relics). Because this site has a large number of artifacts that can be restored, that is, artifacts that can be restored in various eras, then we can use this to build a set of "standard tools", which is very useful for us to understand the cultural features of each period.

[Explanation] Xin Zhonghua revealed that in addition to continuing to take care of the restoration and protection of cultural relics, the next excavation work will also require the intervention of scientific and technological archaeological forces such as carbon fourteen specimen testing, soil sample screening, etc., to make the information and data extraction of archaeological work better. comprehensive.
