Last month, in a public toilet managed by Edogawa ward in front of Funabori Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line, one pump-type liquid soap was replaced with a strong acidic liquid in another container.
According to the ward's announcement, a subsequent survey revealed that a toilet cleaner had accidentally replenished the toilet bowl cleaning liquid in the equipment storage area.
No injured person has been confirmed, and the Metropolitan Police Department has determined that there is no case.
Edogawa Ward said, "We were very worried about the residents of the ward. We paid careful attention to the vendors to improve their business system including equipment management."
