The Ministry of Justice has set up a new study group to discuss measures to enhance support for victims of crime, and is considering a system in which the state will assist lawyer expenses.
Regarding assistance to the country for crime victims, the Japan Judicial Assistance Center = Houterasu introduces lawyers to the victims and provides legal counseling. In order to do so, a new study group was established.
At the first meeting of the study group held at the Ministry of Justice on the 29th, eight experts including lawyers and university professors participated. We want to enhance the activities of lawyers so that we will not be forced."
