Congress does not seem to be aware of what is coming upon all Spaniards. In the midst of a wave of poorly controlled outbreaks that are damaging the image of Spain in the foreign tourism market, with unemployment marking its worst figure ever and with the credible threat that it has yet to escalate further when many temporary unemployed become dismissed, the government indulges in suicidal complacency and part of the opposition forgets its role to fight for the spotlight and the votes.

Disregarding the sanitary recommendations, Sánchez summoned his entire parliamentary group to applaud himself while giving account of the European agreement, in which he had a discreet role - when not counterproductive, as during the scuffle with the Social Democratic President of Finland - but who is trying to sell as a personal success. It seems that for Sánchez, propaganda applause is more important than exemplary observance of social distance.: the same distance as Salvador Illa never tires of claiming citizens. But the triumphalism of design does not show strength, but rather reveals necessity in a hard journey that will require managerial solvency: the unemployed will not be comforted by rhetorical effect or grandiose comparisons with the Marshall plan, but rather by getting a job.

When Sánchez affirms that Spain is aligned with what Europe is asking to claim the program agreed with Podemos before the pandemic, he is missing the truth. Europe asks for sensible accounts and a meticulous project of economic transformation, not squandering customers or economic interventionism or indebtedness in unproductive expenses. Holding onto sterile ideological premises and undesirable partners for European standards , Sánchez will only cause Spain to miss out on the best opportunity presented to him to push through long-delayed reforms. It must be remembered that the approved funds will take time and will only be transferred if conditions overseen by Brussels are met. The first occasion to straighten out its radical course and demonstrate reformist will will come to the Government with budget negotiations, which in no case can depend on the delusions of the ERC.

And in the midst of this panorama, those of Abascal decide to announce a motion of censure. It is as obvious that it is destined for failure as that its true objective is to intimidate the PP, which is on the rise in the polls at the expense of the populist right. The maneuver - postponed to September despite being justified for reasons of maximum urgency - will only serve to unite the same government, which they claim to be the only ones to firmly oppose . As long as the most elemental sense of patriotism yields to blatant partisanship in power and in opposition, reconstruction will be unfeasible.
