Large cities in most countries are packed with surveillance cameras, but there are countries that use this technology extensively, among them China, which leads the world in this regard.

There are 18 cities with the largest number of surveillance cameras in the world in China, along with London and the Indian Hyderabad.

And recent figures revealed that the British capital has the third largest number of CCTV cameras, compared to any city in the world.

London, which has 9.3 million people, contains 627,727 cameras, equivalent to 67.5 cameras per 1,000 people, according to Sky News.

According to data compiled by technical companies, the northeastern city of Taiyuan has the largest number of surveillance cameras in the world, with 119.6 cameras per 1,000 people.

Among the cities with heavy use of surveillance cameras outside China, Hyderabad, southern India, came in the sixteenth place globally, with 30 cameras per thousand people.

And it appears in the list of other Chinese cities with high density of surveillance cameras, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Harbin and Chengdu.

Globally, 770 million surveillance cameras are in use, 54 percent of them in China alone.
