After the success of hearings of the season 1 of The Witcher, Netflix announced Monday on Twitter preparation spinoff Blood Origin in live-action until the next season of medieval fantasy series.
“We all know Geralt de Riv. But do you know who the first Witcher is? We are preparing the miniseries The Witcher: Blood Origin , a spin-off of The Witcher where you can meet the very first Witcher. And it's happening… soon, ”the streaming giant tweeted. The six-part mini-series will look back on the story of the first Witcher, 1,200 years before that of Geralt de Riv (Henry Cavill).

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich and scriptwriter-musician Declan de Berra will be at the helm of this production inspired by the literary saga The Witcher by Pole Andrzej Sapkowski, whose eight volumes have since been translated into 37 languages and read by some 15 million people.
A first appetizer of the sequel to Netflix's most watched series with more than 76 million views after barely four weeks of operation depending on the platform. Filming is expected to resume in August and release in 2021, according toAllocine.
