Contagions rise again in the last hours. The figures updated and released by the Ministry of Health this Tuesday reveal 905 new cases , 50 more than the previous day when 855 were registered. In this way, the positive curve returns to the upward trend of Thursday and Friday of last week, days when the infections touched the thousand (971 and 922 cases). Most of the new positives registered correspond to Aragon (357); followed by Madrid (147) and Catalonia (126).

In addition, the total infections registered in the last two weeks, since last Monday, July 13, have multiplied almost fourfold. According to the latest data published by Health, in the last seven days they exceeded 13,000 cases (13,116) throughout the national territory. The figure supposes an average of daily cases of 1,900 infections at present, when that same number was just over 500 in all of Spain on July 13 (with a figure of infections in the last seven days of 3,933 positives), according to daily reports from the Ministry of Health.

The official count has also reported two new deaths. Thus, the total number of deaths from coronavirus since the start of the pandemic amounts to 28,436 . This data excludes deaths from residences and those who had symptoms compatible with Covid-19 but did not undergo a diagnostic test. With death date in the last week, the official count reports six deaths.

Of these deaths, two correspond to Catalonia. Castilla y León, the Valencian Community, Madrid and the Basque Country report one. The rest of the Communities have not reported any deaths during this period of time .

The number of hospitalizations also follows a worrying increase . The Health report has reported 386 admissions in the last seven days (Monday 347), double that two weeks ago when 165 were registered. Of the 386, 19 patients have entered the ICU in the last hours (compared to five of the previous day). Thus, the total admissions in this hospital unit amounts to 11,759.

At the European level, Spain remains in third position by number of infections (280,610) , only behind Russia (818,120) and the United Kingdom (300,111). Italy and Turkey continue in fourth and fifth position, with 246,286 and 226,100 infections, respectively. The country with the highest number of deaths is still the United Kingdom (45,759), followed by Italy (35,112) and France (30,209).
