An urgent situation. Printing of the daily Le Monde was blocked Monday in Ile-de-France following a demonstration by the Book-CGT union, which asks publishers and the state to relaunch the distribution of newspapers. Following the liquidation of the distributor Presstalis in May, several areas are no longer regularly delivered in newspapers, including Lyon and Marseille.

A hundred former employees of SAD, the liquidated distribution subsidiary of Presstalis, demonstrated Monday morning in front of the Paris headquarters of Le Monde . The group's boss, Louis Dreyfus, also heads the daily newspaper cooperative, which has taken over part of Presstalis, which has become France Messagerie.

"Publishers always tend to let the situation rot"

The SGLCE-CGT, which was not received in the newspaper, announced that the printing of Le Monde would be blocked in Ile-de-France. "The national dailies have their hands on the file," said Didier Lourdez, secretary general of the SGLCE-CGT. "We have provided solutions for the distribution of daily newspapers in the provinces for a month".

In Marseille as in Lyon, the former employees could soon no longer have access to the premises, which were rented by Presstalis, to ensure the distribution of the press. They regret that the two distributors, France Messagerie and the MLP, do not get along, and the absence of the State. "Publishers always tend to let the situation rot by letting the state intervene," said Guillaume Dumoulin, union representative of the SAD. "To believe that the State and the editors have only one objective: the elimination of the CGT in this sector", supported Didier Lourdez.
