On July 26, local time, a military parade was held in St. Petersburg, Russia to celebrate the Navy Day. 46 ships and 41 helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft participated in the event. During the military parade, a large number of people gathered on the banks of the Neva River in St. Petersburg, holding Russian flags or naval flags, to applaud the passing ships and fighters. To encourage naval construction, the former Soviet Union government established a naval festival in 1939. The festival was originally set to be July 24th of each year. Before 1980, the Soviet Union changed the Navy Day to the last Sunday in July each year. (Reporter Wang Xiujun edited Gao Yuhui)
