At 9:57 on the morning of July 26, the gate of a culvert in Daijiahu, the flood storage area of Jiangtang Lake, Yingshang County, Anhui Province was damaged, forming a vortex with a diameter of about 10 meters behind the embankment. Due to the high water level in the flood storage area, after the gate was damaged, large water spouted from the gate, endangering the safety of people in the surrounding villages.
After the occurrence of the danger, the local area has successively allocated 500 tons of boulders, 500 tons of stones, 500 sets of steel wire mesh pockets, and 72 steel cages, and 1,275 rescuers were put into use to block the water inlet of the culvert with steel cages.
Yingshang County has urgently mobilized support from all parties to transfer the masses. 1067 rescuers from 28 towns and villages rushed to the front line. Fuyang City Public Security Bureau and Yingshang County Public Security Bureau dispatched nearly 900 police to transfer the masses on the spot. 64 officers and soldiers of the Water Rescue Commando of the Anhui Military Region were ordered to carry 12 assault boats (boats) from Wangjiaba to the scene for rescue.
