According to the Ministry of Justice, the Fukuoka prison confirmed that a male prisoner in his 40s was infected with the new coronavirus on the 20th of this month, and had an employee who had been in contact with the prisoner at home.

Of these, a male prisoner in his twenties had a fever symptom from the 24th, so when he performed a PCR test, the infection was confirmed on the 25th.

The fourth prison officer in Fukuoka prison was confirmed to have been infected, and all of these prison officers were responsible for instructing and supervising prisoners.

It is said that Fukuoka prison is trying to prevent the spread of the infection by isolating prisoners who have been in contact with prison officers who were confirmed to be infected in private rooms.
