Hence his breakthrough towards professionalism, as the Rahbani brothers called him and secured him to their band, where he participated in the first theatrical work in Baalbek, "The Cups of Air" in 1965, starring Al-Shahrourah Sabah and artist Nasri Shams Al-Din.

He also participated in the festivals of Beiteddine and Al-Arz, until the meeting with Ziyad Rahbani, where Marwan Mahfouz played the championship in the "Sahriya" play alongside actress Georgette Sayegh and Joseph Saqr. And he sang in this play songs that received wide fame, including: "O Saif Ala'aada Tayel" and "Afraid to be your love and love."

Marwan Mahfouz sang to many great authors and composers, among them are the Rahbani brothers, Ziyad Rahbani, Wadih Al-Safi, Filemon Wehbe, Elias Rahbani, Suhail Arafa, Joseph Ayoub, Abdel Fattah Sukkar, and others.

Among the poets: the Rahbani brothers, Musa Zogheib, Abdul Jalil Wehbe, Issa Ayoub, Boutros Deeb, Ghassan Matar, Ziyad Rahbani, Mustafa Mahmoud, and others ..

He participated with the Rahbani brothers in all the plays they presented from 1965 to 1973.

Between 1969 and 1974 he also worked with director Raymond Haddad in Beiteddine with a group of great artists in plays written by Elias Rahbani, Elie Choueiri and others.
