On July 24, Rui Baoling, director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of Urumqi, introduced that from 0:00 to 24:00 on July 23, 13 new cases of new coronary pneumonia were confirmed in Urumqi (11 of which were asymptomatic infections were converted to confirmed cases). There were 19 cases of asymptomatic infection. As of 24:00 on July 23, there are currently 93 confirmed cases and 85 asymptomatic infections in Urumqi.
Rui Baoling explained that the number of newly reported cases every day is not equal to the newly infected cases. For example, 16 of the 18 newly confirmed cases on the 22nd were converted to asymptomatic infections, and 11 of the 13 newly confirmed cases on the 23rd Cases of asymptomatic infection were converted to confirmed cases.
Rui Baoling said that with the continuous advancement of nucleic acid testing, sporadic cases and asymptomatic infections will still be screened out, some of which will be converted to confirmed cases. Therefore, on the one hand, the general public is requested not to panic; on the other hand, we must actively cooperate in the implementation of various prevention and control measures.
