Tokyo Metropolitan Government Designates Medical Institutions to Decline Acceptance of Suspected Infection Corona July 25, 7:34

In order to reduce the number of cases in which emergency patients suspected of being infected with the new coronavirus are rejected, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has begun efforts to receive vacant private rooms at designated medical institutions.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, there are cases in which patients who are transported by emergency are refused acceptance by five or more medical institutions, or the recipients are not decided for more than 20 minutes. It has increased four times.

In April, the number of new coronavirus infections surged, and there were a number of cases where we could not secure a private room for patients suspected of having infections such as fever.

In response to this situation, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government began an initiative last month to specify medical institutions that positively accept patients who are suspected of being infected and those who must.

There are 73 medical institutions actively accepting in Tokyo, and we will prepare one private room for 5 days or more per week.

If such medical institutions are refused from 5 places, they must be accepted by 30 medical institutions that can prepare private rooms every day.

The city wants to prepare for acceptance, such as providing support money to designated medical institutions.
