Mayenne remains the only department in mainland France in a situation of "high vulnerability", the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Pays-de-la-Loire said on Friday.
Beyond this observation, it is the indicators that worry the authorities. The ARS invites in particular "caution and action", said Jean-Jacques Coiplet. The departmental director notably mentioned a coronavirus positivity rate out of 100 tests, which is now at 3.8, while it was at 3.2 on Monday.
"No major tension" in the healthcare offer
Since July 12, an intensive screening policy has been carried out by the ARS. More than 11,800 tests have been carried out in this rural department which has a little over 300,000 inhabitants. On July 21, the authorities had nevertheless evoked "encouraging signs" after the screening of more than 8,000 people.
The health authorities however indicated that there was "no major tension at the level of the offer of care" in Mayenne. According to the latest figures arrested Thursday evening, there were eight people hospitalized and two in intensive care in this western department, "without sign of seriousness".
