Actor Michael B. Jordan - AdMedia / Starface

Michael B. Jordan has big plans for Hollywood, and not just cinematically. The actor announced the launch of his collaboration with the Color of Change association for an initiative called, quite simply, #ChangeHollywood. The idea: to promote diversity and inclusion within the studios, and thus allow a better representation of minorities on the screen.

Hollywood has a history of racism… Excluding Black talent, silencing Black voices, derailing Black careers, and propping up policing and injustices…

“This program is only the beginning of our journey to achieve racial justice. We are all accomplices in this fight to transform Hollywood, we invite content creators to join us for #ChangeHollywood. We look forward to adding more diverse voices to do what we do best: telling authentic stories, bringing people together, partnering with influential artists, and changing the rules of the game, ”posted the La star. Voice of Justice on its social networks.

Difficult change

Among the concrete measures proposed by Michael B. Jordan and his partners: reallocating funds allocated by the film industry to the police, investing in black talent and creators, investing in anti-racist content, and investing in communities black.

The star, who was one of the first to systematically set up inclusion clauses (which commit studios to a percentage of diversity in films, in the cast as in the technical team) on his shoots with his company production company Outlier Society, concludes with this message: “Change is difficult, and no one can do it alone. Just know that I am here with you ”.
