While the circulation of the coronavirus is on the rise in France in recent days, the geneticist Axel Kahn refuses to be "catastrophist". But he believes on Europe 1 that "the most critical month will undoubtedly be November" and calls on the population "to be very careful", "otherwise everything we have done will have been for nothing".

"Until November, it will be necessary to do even more tests, and in particular in airports so that there are no people returning from abroad and who could be carriers of the virus", asks the doctor , which also calls on the population to redouble their attention and to scrupulously respect the barrier gestures. "There are also the barrier measures: we asked, along with other doctors, that masks be compulsory in closed populated places, and we obtained it. We must therefore be very careful."

"We have to be very careful, otherwise everything we have done at the time of confinement will have been for nothing"

Axel Kahn then drew a parallel with the viral circulation at the time of containment. “In March, when we contained, the circulation of the virus was massive. The result of the containment was to decrease the circulation of the virus to what it was in mid-February. But today we have more tests. and no more barrier measures. We have to live with the coronavirus and not be foolish ", implores the doctor.

"The virus is there and can pass from person to person, and possibly cause an epidemic peak. You have to be very careful, otherwise all that we will have done at the time of containment will have been a firecracker thrown into the water. 'will have served no purpose! "exclaims the geneticist.
