The Danjiangkou Dam in Hubei Province opened its gates on the morning of July 23 for flood discharge. This is also the first flood discharge for Danjiangkou Dam this year.

According to real-time data from the Yangtze River Hydrological Network, at 8 am on the 23rd, the water level of Danjiangkou Reservoir reached 161.61 meters, the downstream water level was 90.27 meters, the inflow rate was 5360 cubic meters per second, and the outbound flow rate was 1810 cubic meters per second.

In order to free up the flood control storage capacity and ensure the safety of the dam during the flood season, the gate was released at 7:45 in the morning and the water surged out. Although only one deep-hole gate was opened this time, the scene was still spectacular, with water flowing like ten thousand horses and splashing waves.

According to the relevant person in charge of Hanjiang Water Conservancy and Hydropower (Group) Co., Ltd., the water level of Danjiangkou Reservoir continued to rise due to the continuous heavy rainfall in the upper reaches of the Hanjiang River. Since July 12, the water level of the reservoir exceeded the flood control limit during the summer flood season for the first time. Run for 12 days.
