During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a 23-year-old caregiver was fatally struck and dragged for a long time on the road by a car which fled. Its driver, aged 21, then presented himself spontaneously to the police and was indicted on Monday evening, before Gérald Darmanin spoke to the Assembly, on charges of "voluntary violence resulting in death and hit and run ". Another 19-year-old, present in the car, was indicted for "failure to assist a person in danger".
“Rather than responding to popular vindictiveness, the Minister of the Interior had to ensure his role of guarantor of social peace. […] As recalled by the Keeper of the Seals: “justice does not go to the streets, nor on social networks, nor in the media”, ”concludes Me Cooper.
