We take the same and start again. Ten years after "Life in a day 2010", Ridley Scott and Kevin McDonald relaunch a global collaborative documentary project. Simply called "Life in a day 2020", the project offers anyone who wants to share their day of July 25 to film themselves, whether you are at a particular event or quietly installed on your sofa binger a series on Netflix, it doesn't matter. , since the objective is to achieve "a portrait of the world on a specific day", explains the director of Alien , Gladiator , or Blade Runner. 

"We want reality"

To have some semblance of unity among the thousands of videos that risk being uploaded to the event's dedicated site, participants must answer four questions: "What do you like? Who scares you? What would you like to change in this world? " "What we do not especially want is the prettier and perfect version of yours just as we usually see it on social networks. We want authenticity. We want reality," explains for his part director Kevin McDonald.

Some prerequisites

However, there are a few details to know if you want to maximize your chance to see your day appear in this documentary: you have to shoot in horizontal format, and pay particular attention to the quality of the image and the sound. The video of your day should also be sent before August 2. As for the documentary, it will be screened at the next Sundance Film Festival in January 2021 and will be available on YouTube immediately.

In 2010, tens of thousands of people from 192 countries participated in the project and submitted 4,500 hours of video.
