  A 77-year-old male patient (case number 1562) with a confirmed diagnosis from Queen Mary Hospital passed away at about 2 am this morning. The patient himself had a long-term illness. He went to the Accident and Emergency Department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 14 due to a fever. He was diagnosed later and was transferred to the isolation ward of Queen Mary Hospital for treatment. The patient's condition deteriorated on the 16th and was admitted to the adult intensive care unit to receive oxygen support. He died on the 21st.

  In addition, an 87-year-old male patient (case number 1348) was diagnosed in Prince of Wales Hospital and passed away at about 2:50 this morning. The patient himself had a long-term illness and was admitted to the hospital for treatment on July 9. He had a fever and was in stable condition. The patient's condition continued to deteriorate and passed away early on the 21st.

  According to reports, a total of 14 confirmed patients died in public hospitals in Hong Kong so far.
