“More and more grouped cases are identified in New Aquitaine by the Regional Agency for Health and Public Health France. At the origin of these clusters identified in recent weeks: a lack of vigilance very often observed. Even more worrying, deliberately risky behavior: a return from a trip to a “risky” area with symptoms and without control, an event or a stay maintained despite a positive Covid test, an evening without any barrier measures ... And the chain of contamination begins ”, deplores the ARS in a report drawn up on Tuesday.

Screening campaign in the Landes

But beyond the clusters, there are also isolated cases, such as those tested positive and unrelated in the town of Aire-sur-l'Adour, in the Landes, where a vast screening campaign will be carried out. in place from Wednesday by the community of municipalities.

If since July 17 the number of hospitalizations has fallen in New Aquitaine, standing at 67 people, the number of serious cases has increased. Now, 16 Covid-19 patients are now in intensive care, five more than last Friday. Since the start of the epidemic, 424 people have died from the coronavirus in the region.

"To unite against the virus and not spoil all the efforts made during confinement, we must spend special vacations: respect barrier gestures in all collective places, on tourist sites, at the beach or campsite bar," in the evening… Attitudes "as if nothing had happened" should be avoided this summer for the safety of all, despite the need to escape, "concludes the Regional Health Agency.
